MVP Development

For founders with an idea and no engineering team. We take a business problem, scope it into a first version that answers one commercial question, and build it properly, with real authentication, real deployment and real monitoring, in weeks rather than quarters. You own the code and the infrastructure from day one.

This is you if

  • You can describe the business problem precisely and the software vaguely
  • You need something real in front of users before a funding conversation or a pilot
  • Two developers have quoted you wildly different numbers for the same brief
  • You keep adding features to the plan and the launch date keeps moving
  • You have a manual process working today and want to productise it

If none of these describe your situation, this is probably the wrong service. The other service lines may fit better, and a consulting session is the cheapest way to find out.

What's included

  • Discovery that produces a written, challengeable scope before any code is written
  • A first version scoped around one business question, not around a feature wishlist
  • Authentication, payments and the integrations your model actually depends on
  • Deployment automation, backups and monitoring included rather than deferred
  • Weekly demos on a staging environment you can click through yourself
  • Full handover: repositories, infrastructure, documentation and runbooks in your accounts

Typical stack

What you get

  • A working product in front of real users while the market opportunity is still open
  • Evidence for your next funding conversation instead of a prototype and a promise
  • A foundation that extends into v2 instead of being thrown away

How the engagement runs

  1. Discovery, 1–2 weeks

Users, constraints, integrations and the commercial question the first version has to answer. Output is a written scope you can take to any developer.

  2. Architecture, 1 week

Data model, API contracts and infrastructure decided before code, with the risky parts named while changing them is still cheap.

  3. Build, 6–10 weeks

Short iterations, every change reviewed by a second engineer, weekly demos on a staging environment you can click through yourself.

  4. Launch and handover, 1 week

Production release, monitoring and alerts live, documentation written, and a walkthrough for whoever maintains it next.

What you walk away with

  • A written scope you challenged before anyone wrote code, including what was cut and why
  • A working product with real authentication, real data and real payments where the model needs them
  • Staging and production environments in cloud accounts you own
  • Automated deployment, database backups and error monitoring from the first release
  • Repository, infrastructure, documentation and runbooks handed over in your name

What this does not cover

  • Features that do not serve the one question the MVP exists to answer — they belong in v2
  • A design system or brand identity build; we work from your brand or a clean functional interface
  • Ongoing marketing, content or growth work after launch

Naming the exclusions up front is cheaper for both of us than discovering them in week six.

MVP build

fixed price, quoted after discovery

You have the problem and the market, no engineering team, and you need a first version in front of real users while the opportunity is still open.

If it goes wrong

We do not quote a number for a scope we have not challenged. The scope is agreed in writing first, and you own the code and infrastructure from the first commit.

Why not next quarter: Discovery is the cheap part and the part that decides everything else. Booking it does not commit you to the build.

Every offer, side by side

Before you ask

I have an idea but no technical team. Where do I start?
Start with a discovery conversation, not a build. We spend the first sessions turning the idea into a written scope: who the user is, what the first version has to prove commercially, which integrations are unavoidable, and what it will cost. You can take that document to any developer, including one who is not us. Most founders who skip this step pay for features that never get used.
How much does it cost to build an MVP?
Our MVP engagements start at $12,000 and typically run 8 to 14 weeks. Cost is driven less by screen count than by the number of third-party integrations, the number of user roles, and how much of the business domain has never been written down. A five-screen product with three integrations and an approval workflow costs more than a twenty-screen catalogue.
Read every answer

Two ways to start, both of them cheap.

Book a call and talk it through, or write the problem down and send it — whichever you would actually do today. Either way you get a reply from an engineer within one business day, and an honest answer about whether we are a fit.

Not ready for either? A $600 consulting session buys one straight answer with no obligation to hire us.
